Thanks to you....
Luke and I have to thank some special people who helped us through this whole process of birthing, nursing, bottle feeding, mush feeding, weighing, and training. Without the assistance of certain intricate links there might not have been puppies in some of your homes. Or in some cases they wouldn't have been so well adjusted or lovable. So, without further delay, thank you for your time and dedication with assisting in the effort to help us raise our rescued Baker's Dozen.
Gayle and Larry
Gayle, owner of Spellbound, had been an experienced breeder of dogs, horses, monkeys, zebras, camels, birds, you name it, she has it if it is an exotic animal. She walked me through so many situations. For example when Bella didn't have enough milk she told me what to feed her to get her to produce more milk. Gayle is also responsible for #13 - Lily being born alive. Lily was born three and 1/2 hours after all the others. She instructed us that Bella needed a shot to induce labor if I believed there were anymore puppies inside or they would die. Sure enough, as soon as the shot was given, out popped Lily, #13, then the last afterbirth.
Gayle thank you for assisting us with Bella and her puppies. For teaching me how to cut their nails. Instructing me how to feed them with a bottle. Explaining how to mix the formula with the rice cereal. I can't thank you enough. I really couldn't have raised these dogs without the assistance of our good friend Gayle. (Larry is not featured)

Jen and Rob (above). I met Jen because I was so frustrated with Bella who wouldn't eat. I was actually panicky. Prior to Bella's delivery I contacted three or four Great Dane rescue groups to warn them we were having puppies that we suspected might be Merle and that we might need assistance - assistance with feeding, gathering newspapers, perhaps with training, you name it. Jen and Rob are associated the The Great Dane Rescue of the Commonwealth. Since they have four Great Danes of their own they are quite experienced with many of the issues I would experience in the future and what I was currently experiencing. She returned my call, gathered tons of newspapers from her neighbors, and also helped me with the food; she turned me to The PetWay! They were the first visitors to see the puppies; they assisted me with bottle feeding the puppies as you can imagine 13 mouths get crazy when they all want to eat at the same time. Rob takes great pictures of his own Danes so I was thrilled to have him take pictures of our puppies. One of those photos may actually be published in a book. Bella has brought so many wonderful people into our lives. We have great friends like Jen and Rob to enrich our lives. Jen and Rob I truly can't thank you enough for all you have done and continue to do as you walk us through Dane ownership/parenthood. Thanks for everything!
Paula
Paula was about ready to have a baby herself yet she agreed to assist us with Bella's litter. After Bella's litter was born Paula's baby arrived only 10 days later. She agreed to allow me to look over applications, go on home visits, and to approve homes for our litter of Great Danes. I knew these babies the best. She helped us test their hearing and sight every few weeks although Luke and I tested them nearly daily. She updated her website and did the screening before notifying me of prospective adopter. This was a feat I didn't think I could do alone. I am grateful for her knowledge and experience in this realm. I know it wasn't easy dealing with such a huge task (12 puppies some with special needs) or ME!
Debbie & Cameron and The PetWay
When Bella wouldn't eat I was frantic. At first I didn't know she was pregnant so I just tried different foods along with canned foods. But when I knew she was having a huge litter I knew she had to eat.
Debbie was such a great help. She brought several samples and we tried them all until Bella chose one she would eat. We both tried them. Whatever she tried-I tired. She began to eat finally. That same food is what I fed the puppies after their formula and baby rice cereal stage. That same food is what nursed Boomer and Haus to a health as well. It is also what the continue to eat daily.
At least 4 of the 10 families are using the PetWay brand food. We LOVE The PetWay! Try it! www.ThePetway.com

Kasha
Dog Trainer, Kasha, and proprietor of Rosebriar Dog Training, helped me on several occasions. She consulted and advised me to help confirm homes for several of the disabled dogs as well as simply assist with behavior modification. Thanks Kasha for helping us out.
